A little tour description

Havelberg is the cradle of the Prignitz. The Christianization of Northern Brandenburg started here. The Romanesque cathedral sits enthroned above the town which is situated on an island in the Havel.

The Elberadweg runs from here to Quitzöbel/Gnevsdorf between Elbe and Havel through the UNESCO biosphere reserve Flusslandschaft Elbe-Brandenburg.

About 30 stork pairs breed over the roofs of the European Stork Village Rühstädt.

Wittenberge presents itself as an Elbe town with impressive industrial landmarks.

The route between Cumlosen and Dömitz runs along the former inner-German border and three preserved border control towers testify to it.

Exhibitions at the Burg Lenzen inform about life and nature along the big river. The view from the tower shows not only the historical old town but also four German states.

Perleberg has a historical town centre with two market places and a Roland statue made of sandstone. Don't miss the town's museums and the zoo.

The route along the Stepenitz leads to Wolfshagen where the visit to the Baroque palace is a must.

The road leads through Pritzwalk to Wittstock with its historical town centre and the museums Alte Bischofsburg.

The route takes you further to Sewekow and its forest and lake landscapes and then to the Ruppin countryside.
