We hereby inform you about the incipient or advanced infestation by the oak processionary moth

1. Havel dike km 5 + 600, selectively at the Lennerwitz oaks and km 1 + 600
2. Mitteldeich km 94 + 600 and 95 + 600
3. Elbe dike km 3 + 000 Rühstädter Bogen
4. Gnevsdorf Eichen weir in the foreland between the Havel and Elbe
5. between guard house Wentdorf and OL Cumlosen, especially in the OL Müggendorf am Elbdeich, among others at km 24 + 900, 25 + 100, 25 + 300 and 30 + 200 on the land side and at
28 + 000 and 28 + 800 on the water and land side and at km 27 + 700 and 29 + 600 to 29 + 800 on the water side and on many foreland and hinterland oaks.

From the experience of the last few years, it can be expected that the infestation will continue to spread.

Dear guests,
we must point out that in some areas of the Prignitz larger populations of the oak processionary moth can occur. The health problems caused by the nettle hairs persist for a long time on the infested oaks.

All actors in the region join forces to jointly take action against the population of the oak processionary moth, so that the extent of the health impairments is minimized as far as possible.

Generally, caterpillars and their nests must not be touched. Even if there is a suspicion of poison hair contact, the following measures can help: (The German Forest Protection Association recommends the following)
