Travel and excursions in times of Corona

Brandenburg has summarized what you need to consider when traveling or excursions for the region:

In view of the significantly decreasing number of infections, the state government of Brandenburg has the new „Verordnung über den Umgang mit dem SARS-CoV-2-Virus und COVID-19 in Brandenburg" . It entered into force on August 1st, 2021 and is now initially valid until August 28th, 2021 after extension.

What you now need to know when planning your vacation or excursion:

Tourist overnight stays are possible without restrictions. The following applies to all accommodation facilities: as long as the seven-day incidence in the district or the urban district in which the overnight stay takes place is below the value of 20, there is no obligation to test for Covid 19.

Gastronomy: A Covid-19 test is no longer necessary outdoors. There is also no compulsory test indoors, so the seven-day incidence is stable below the value of 20.

Events can generally take place with up to 1,000 participants (distance requirement, recording of personal data, in closed rooms: mask requirement and, for entertainment-related events, additional test, vaccination or recovery evidence).

Mask requirement only applies in closed public spaces such as shops, events, churches, local public transport, in coaches and changing rooms. At events, in theaters, concert halls and cinemas, there is no mask requirement if there is a minimum distance of 1 meter between fixed seats.

Contact restrictions for private celebrations on special occasions: Up to 100 guests can celebrate outside and up to 50 guests inside. Special occasions are e.g. engagement and wedding parties, anniversaries, birthday parties, inauguration, examination and graduation parties.

In retail , personal data no longer needs to be recorded for the purpose of contact tracking.

In fun and leisure pools, outdoor pools, saunas, thermal baths and wellness centers , your personal data is recorded for the purpose of contact tracking. Outside the pool, the distance requirement must be observed. Masks must be worn in the changing rooms. A Covid-19 test is not required, so the seven-day incidence is stable below the value of 20.

Indoor playgrounds: Your personal data is recorded for the purpose of contact tracking. Outside the playing areas, the distance requirement must be observed. A mask must also be worn here.

For coach trips, city tours, boat trips and comparable tourist offers , your personal data is recorded for contact tracking, you have to stay in a fixed seat during the journey and wear a medical mask inside. A Covid-19 test is not required, so the seven-day incidence is stable below the value of 20.

You can always call up current data on the infection rate of the COVID-19 pandemic in individual locations via the postcode check. It is based on data from the Robert Koch Institute.
